Hertfordshire Community Trust sees strong improvement in latest NHS performance league tables

Health / Sun 5th Apr 2026 at 02:36pm

UPDATED NHS performance league tables, published today, show Hertfordshire Community Trust as one of the highest ranked community trusts in the country.

The league table, published quarterly as part of the NHS Oversight Framework, provides a view of how NHS trusts are performing in key services, including patient safety, patient experience and finance. Each trust is placed into one of four segments – with Segment 1 representing those facing fewer challenges, and Segment 4 those with the greatest challenges.

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust has been placed in Segment 1 and is ranked 14 out of 61 mental health and community trusts in the country, with particularly high performance for patient safety, and people and workforce.

Elliot Howard-Jones, Chief Executive at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, said:

“Our improvement in the NHS Oversight Framework league table is testament to the continued dedication of all teams across the Trust. Our movement into the top segment reflects our continued focus on patient care. This has allowed us to improve patient experience and to make sure our finances are in the right place to treat more patients.

“We encourage our patients and staff to continue to provide feedback, and we will use this data to develop our services to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides community-based healthcare services to more than 1.2 million people living in Hertfordshire, West Essex, East of England and beyond.

Lucky Hertfordshire. Shame on us stuck in Essex.

As our local politicians continue to refuse to acknowledge the Lampard Inquiry so I'll keep mentioning it. The inquiry is examining the unnecessary deaths of mental health patients in Essex over 23 years up to 2023. So far, 44 days of hearings have been held which started in September 2024.
