Benefits and pensions rise as two-child cap ends

A HOST of benefits and the state pension are rising as the new financial year begins, including more money for larger families on universal credit.

The two-child benefit cap has now been scrapped, meaning some 480,000 families with three or more children will get an average rise of £4,100 a year.

It took a lot pressure from trade unions and charities to force Labour MPs to coerce government ministers into scrapping the two child benefit cap. Let's not forget Chris Vince's servile support for Keir Starmer's Tory-like position of trying to keep the two child limit in place. This was a despicably low point in Labour Party history and Vince is one of many villains in it.
Keir Starmer states he is proud of lifting the two-child benefit cap in the Guardian today. Really? To get there he suspended his own MP' who committed the vile crime of voting for lifting it in parliament when he decided not too. The same was true when he attempted to remove the winter fuel payment and PIP payments. Thatcher would have been proud of him but Attlee and Nye would be resigning from the party. Add lying to his membership to get the leadership role and you end up with a discredited PM with no vision or Labour values.
Chris Vince will know as a former maths teacher and active member of the National Education Union (NEU) that his union continually campaigned for the scrapping of the two child benefit cap. However, the NEU says more needs to be done: "In the UK today, 31 per cent of our children – 4.5 million – are trapped in poverty. That means nine pupils in an average class of 30 have been let down. Wealth is a significant predictor of how well children get on in school. By GCSE level, poorer pupils are on average 19 months behind their wealthier peers." Yay we are accelerating the collapse. there should be no child benefit and honestly these days I think the old age pension should go too. It pays out 1.2 to 1.5 times what was paid in and an increasingly small base of youngsters is being asked to pay for it, something they will never get, while they are unable to afford houses and start families due to the high taxes.
Adam what high taxes would you abolish? What services would you abolish?
Gary, we have had this discussion before, I would abolish pretty much all taxation and cut all services outside of defence of the borders and nation and a simple legal system. The rest you are own your own.
Why should I pay for other people's kids, all that will happen is lazy good for nothings will keep banging out kids so they don't have to go get a job. If you want more than 2 kids pay for them yourself. And Adam, you really piss me off you arsehole, keep digging at o.a.p. pension. The majority of oaps worked all their lives to pay for the pensions they get today. I take it you will turn down your pension. NOT!!
Adam what planet are you on? Your beef should be with this government and all the illegal freeloaders who contribute absolutely nothing to our society. As for OAPs they have paid into their pensions all their working lives. It is not a Benefit!
