Former Vet at Harlow Greyhound Stadium given new suspension over medicine import

A VET who imported contaminated medication without a certificate, before supplying it to greyhound racing trainers, has been given a second six-month suspension from practice reports Vet Times.

A Royal College of Veterinary Services (RCVS disciplinary committee heard the incident involving Nebojsa Petrovic occurred when he was already under investigation over conduct for which he was previously suspended.
But, despite expressing concern at what it described as his “persistent disregard for regulatory legislation”, the panel found there was no significant risk of further, similar, wrongdoing.
Dr Petrovic, who was a licensed track vet at the Harlow stadium, told the committee he had feared racing could cease without it, potentially presenting its own welfare risks.

Its important to note here that this is his SECOND SUSPENSION! There is a lot of other negative and damning information surrounding the vets at Harlow track which will be shared in due course, but this story only goes to prove what we at Shutdown Harlow Track have been campaigning for. It is painfully obvious that animal welfare is not a priority at the track and its time it closed for good.
Tip of the iceberg for the corruption going on at Harlow Stadium. This is the same industry that claims to ‘love’ their dogs. Can’t wait to see the end of this abhorrent ‘sport’.
For the panel to say that this vet, already suspended before the current suspension was at no significant risk of further, similar, wrongdoing is naive and not something I'd want to take a chance on. He should nog be allowed to practice at Harlow or anywhere, as his “persistent disregard for regulatory legislation”, should have been made more of, as I feel he will do what he wants to - whatever is expedient for him for whatever reason. He is a very bad bad example a professional who is supposed to do the best for animals in his care and not bending rules as it suits him. Bad decision RCVS!! Those who rely on greyhound racing take heed. It will finish and we will be in tandem with Wales and Scotland asap! Watch this space.....
