AFTER the success of last year, St Clare Hospice’s Colour Run is back in Harlow this June, offering a fun and colourful day out for families, friends and supporters of all ages.

The Harlow event will take place at Harlow Rugby Club on Sunday 7 June 2026 at 10am, where participants will complete a 5k course lined with colour stations, and emerging covered head-to-toe in rainbow hues!

Among those gearing up for the event is local supporter Jackie Davis (62), from North Weald, who is taking part in memory of her dad, Terry.

“Losing someone is the hardest thing we’ll all go through. Regardless of the circumstances – age, illness – it’s tough,” Jackie said, reflecting on her experience.

Jackie’s dad was cared for by St Clare Hospice in 2016, something she says made an immeasurable difference to her family during a deeply difficult time.

“In 2016, after having a stint in hospital, my dad, Terry, was moved to St Clare, where he died,” she explained. “The support offered to not only Dad but us as a family is something I never knew how much I needed.The kind, gentle, supportive care and help we received made a dreadful experience bearable.

When I think back, I can smile knowing Dad spent his final moments in such a special, calm environment.”

Jackie says she will always be grateful for the dignity and care her family experienced and wants others to benefit in the same way.

“St Clare does everything it can to support patients and families with dignity, and I’ll always be grateful. We’re incredibly fortunate to have it locally, and it’s so important we help protect it so others can benefit from the same care.”

Looking ahead to the run, Jackie added:

“I’m looking forward to getting covered in colour and enjoying the atmosphere!”
