YOUNG people in Essex are being encouraged to dream big, thanks to the new Essex Careers Ambassadors campaign.
Helping to motivate the next generation are a talented group of professionals. From chefs to mechanics, musicians to engineers, all are keen to help children realise their potential.

The programme is part of the Essex Year of Opportunity, a £1.33 million campaign by the council across 2026. Through projects and partnerships with organisations, the Essex Year of Opportunity removes barriers into work and education for all ages by providing access to essential skills.
The ambassadors show that with ambition and hard work, schoolchildren can achieve their goals.
Among the inspiring ambassadors is Sian Cleaver, a spacecraft engineer who worked on the latest Artemis mission to the moon. A Chelmsford schoolgirl, she is now helping to shape the future of space exploration.
Also joining the programme is AJ Grand-Scrutton from Dlala Studios in Witham. He turned his passion for gaming into an award-winning video game studio. His journey highlights how creativity and innovation can lead to exciting careers close to home.
The ambassadors also include people working across healthcare, hospitality and the creative industries. The campaign aims to give young people relatable role models and real-life examples of what is possible.
An Essex County Council spokesperson said: “The Essex Year of Opportunity is about helping young people believe in themselves. We want people to understand that there is no limit to what they can achieve.
“These careers ambassadors show that success does not follow one single path. Whether you want to work in gaming, become a chocolate maker, or start your own business, there are opportunities for everyone.
“We want every child in Essex to know they can dream big, work hard and build the future they want for themselves.”
The campaign is for children aged 10 plus. The programme also aims to showcase how people’s careers can change and how skills can be transferable.
