Trusted news sources could get prominence on social platforms

News / Wed 24th Jun 2026 at 05:27am

THE government has set out proposals that could see public service broadcasters and other trusted news sources given more prominence on social media channels.

The proposals, included in a Green Paper and aimed at countering mis and dis-information, could see social media platforms required to make trustworthy news providers, which could include national and local news publishers and broadcasters, more easily discoverable. The consultation will also consider how the government can support public service media providers such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, STV and S4C to drive growth and inward investment.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy, said: “It is vital that we make sure that people have better access to trusted and accurate news and that our regulated public service media is seen and heard in the fierce battle against mis and disinformation.

“As the media landscape moves further and further online away from traditional broadcasting we must act so that our world-leading TV sector continues to thrive and top quality UK content keeps being produced.”

The proposals can be read in full here.

Very very sinister, the MSM is it is often wrong or does not cover stories, or question. Lets look at covid for example it was obvious at the time it came from a lab. However as governments across the world were involved in that they pushed a story regarding wet markets. people who questioned a bad narrative were banned from social media and the MSM had expert after expert pushing the narrative. Which was recently admitted to be wrong and lies. Same with covid response no one questions the massive damage it was doing and again they were banned from SM, MSM called the covidiots etc. Again now accepted that covid response cost to much and did little over all to protect, and hundreds of billions was wasted. The issue is the state is collapsing it is losing control of the narrative it had for decades, is utterly broke financially and desperate to keep the wheels spinning. The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws. The government lies and it uses the MSM including YH to push that narrative, because they are part of the establishment, long gone is the news papers speaking truth to power.
