A PLANNING application for the replacement of the concrete roof tiles with traditional slates in a Broomfield property has been approved.

Council officers had recommended it for approval stating: “It is considered acceptable in terms of character and appearance.

“It complies with the relevant policies within the Local Plan and supplementary documents and is recommended for approval accordingly, subject to the imposition of appropriate conditions”.

A number of objections had been submitted stating that “the current roof is not in keeping with the conservation area” and “Roofing material should be slate”
