HARLOW MP Robert Halfon visited Edinburgh Way Tesco on Saturday to give thanks to Harlow Foodbank volunteers who were out in force collecting food donations from kind Harlow shoppers.

Foodbank was being given strong support by Tesco which has also set up its own schemes to help those in need.

Mr Halfon said, “I was delighted to support the Harlow Foodbank. It is an amazing organisation and I have worked there as a volunteer to try and understand the work they do.

“The volunteers were doing an incredible job in the store but what was also wonderful was the generosity of Harlow shoppers who were donating significant amounts of food to the Foodbank.

“This time of year is very difficult for many families and the Foodbank makes a huge difference to those in need. We are very lucky to have such a strong Foodbank in our community.

“I give special thanks to the Tesco staff at Edinburgh Way for all their support and was pleased to hear from the manager that Tesco will have a special fund to help local charities. I hope to work with them on this.”
