New M11 junction: Further north better says Harlow business boss but boost for jobs key

PLANS for a new M11 junction have gone on display around the town and have received mixed reviews.
Director of the Harlow Chamber of Commerce, Ian Hudson spoke to BBC Essex on Tuesday morning.
Ian said: “The new junction is desperately needed but the question is whether it is in the right place.
“Many would have placed it further north and not coming into Gilden Way. But that would have placed it in another county and perhaps different councils don’t speak to each other as much as they should.
But the whole plan links up to the Enterprise Zone and so has to be seen as a good thing.
Harlow MP, Robert Halfon was more effusive. Mr Halfon said; The new junction will be part of the overarching strategic plan that will bring 5,000 extra jobs, reduce congestion and boost business in our town”.
