A 21-year old man from Harlow has been arrested after an incident involving a crossbow.

Police were called at 3pm on Tuesday to the Parsonage Leys area of Harlow after a report that a crossbow had been fired in a public place.

A male was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody.
