CHILDREN are safer on the roads after completing a cycling course.
Year 6 pupils at Roydon Primary School,in Epping Road, Roydon, have completed level one and two of the Bikeability course with Essex County Council Highways.
The scheme gets youngsters confident in tackling a course on the school playground, before moving on to road awareness and safety.
Gill Doyle, head of school, said: “I am really proud of our pupils for completing this very important course and gaining a vital life skill. This is all part of the transition to secondary school and supporting the children’s growing independence.”
A total of 16 children have completed the course so far.
