Harlow man charged over attack on taxi driver

A Harlow man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm in connection with an assault on a taxi driver in North Weald on Saturday (March 19).

The victim, a man in his late 60s, was assaulted in High Road as he dropped off his passengers at the end of their journey.

He suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for treatment.

Daniel Bibby, 18, of Playhouse Square, Harlow, will appear before magistrates in Chelmsford this morning (Monday, March 21).

Two youths who were arrested have been released on bail pending further enquiries until June 2.

Any witnesses who have not contacted police are asked to speak to officers at Loughton CID on 101.
