Athletics: Wall runs tall at Coyote marathon

HARLOW Running Club members Will Wall and Martyn Coulter competed in the Kent
Coyote Marathon. Wall led the way in 34th place out of 271 finishers in a
creditable 3hrs 41min 06sec and Coulter was 48th in a personal best time for the
distance (PB) of 3.49.46.
Meanwhile at the Nuclear Blast, as many 5km laps as you can manage in 2hrs over
an obstacle loaded course with mixed, muddy terrain, Jon Steadman managed to
finish two laps in 211th place out of 1483 finishers in 2hrs 41min 11sec. The
long time taken to do just two laps of such a small circuit is an indication of
the severity of the obstacles on the course.
At the very hilly Ingatestone 5 Mile Jamie Jephcott finished in 15th place out
of 116 finishers in a superb 32min 11sec. He was followed by Andy Bradley 27th
in 34.52, Corinne Jay 32nd and 3rd Female in 35.39, John Tennant 40th in 36.24,
Graham Saville 47th in 37.31, Colin Moody 49th in 37.56, Debbie Barry 65th and
1st Female Vet 55 in 40.39 and Laura Jephcott 108th and 1st Female U18 in 50.18.
At the Manuden 10K near Bishop’s Stortford, another very hilly race, Rob Lowe
finished in 2nd place out of 86 finishers in an excellent 37min 36sec. He was
followed by Rich Hynes 5th in 38.15, Alex Smith 7th in 39.41, Terry Ridge 15th
in 42.49, Catherine Ridge 22nd and 1st Female in 45.18, Vicky Steadman 26th and
3rd Female in 47.23 and Paul Dixon 33rd in 49.14.
At the Dedham 10K, near Colchester, Gary Godfrey finished in 58th place out of
333 finishers in 45min 37sec.
At the Hoddesdon 8K (5 Miles) in the Give Your Town the Round Around event Mark
Ramsey finished in 21st place out of 177 finishers in 38min 13sec.
At the 100th running of the Harlow parkrun 5K Afewerk Rossom was first finisher
out of 206 finishers in 17min 21sec. He was followed home by Amaniel Tesfay 2nd
in 19.22, Craig Segal 3rd in 19.43 (PB), Andy Terrell 6th in 20.16, Paul Dixon
22nd in 23.11, Paul Schroder 23rd in 23.16, Spencer Brooks 26th in 23.20, Mark
Ramsey 27th in 23.21, Peter Ayling 30th in 23.34, Graham Saville 40th in 24.39,
Debbie Barry 61st in 27.03, Catherine Ridge 62nd in 27.03, Terry Pike 73rd in
27.58, Louise Cootes 80th in 28.25, Alan Cootes 81st in 28.25, Austin Nyamande
85th in 28.36, Robin Lozeau 88th in 28.51, Carmen Byfield 92nd in 29.14, Pushpa
Mistry 99th in 29.57, Hossein Erfani 101st in 30.02 and Terry Ridge 106th in
30.10.
At the Stevenage parkrun 5K Owen Haigh finished in 5th place out of 222
finishers in 19min 56sec and Jason Haigh was 12th in 20.19.
At the Bury St Edmunds parkrun 5K Gary Godfrey finished in 36th place out of 237
finishers in 22min 18sec.
At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Jamie Luck finished in 23rd place
out of 132 finishers in 22min 32sec.
At the Panshanger parkrun 5K in Hertford Sean Flynn finished in 35th place out
of 211 finishers in 23min 17sec.
At the Barclay parkrun in Hoddesdon Michelle Hyde finished in 11th place out of
47 finishers in 26min 12sec.
At the Redricks Aquathon, a 750m open swim and a 5k trail run at Redricks Lake
just outside Harlow, Adrian Fell finished in 6th place out of 33 finishers in
36min 25sec. He was followed by Ben Usher 9th in 38.10, Andy Ramage 10th in
38.38, Holly Nairn 14th and 1st Female in 40.10, Daren Tiley 16th in 40.17,
Louise Kedge 23rd and 3rd Female in 43,42 and Anna Robey 27th in 45.15.
