A statement on the cub website said: “It is with sadness and regret that we inform you of the tragic and unfortunate passing of Dean Read who collapsed during the 2nd team home match yesterday (05/11/16)

“Dean was admitted to hospital where emergency surgery was carried out but unfortunately he passed away this morning

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Lucy and his family at this time
