HARLOW Theatre Company will take to the stage for the last time in 2016 from 16th November with their production of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen, directed by Brenda Jones at The Victoria Hall Theatre.

The play, written in 1881, is a scathing commentary on 19th Century morality and was banned in England by the Lord Chamberlain’s office because of its subject matter.

HTC are staging Richard Eyre’s 2013 adaptation of the play which has captured all the aspects of Ibsen’s original piece, whilst giving it a more contemporary feel and though not a thriller, it is fascinating to watch the protagonists reveal their secrets.

How did Mr. Alving die, why was Oswald sent from the family home and what made him return? Why is Pastor Manders such an influence on Mrs. Alving? What secret is being kept from Regina and what is Jacob up to?

Ghosts is seen as one of Ibsen’s masterpieces and with some stunning performances emerging during rehearsals, this is not a show to be missed.

Ghosts runs from 16th to 19th November at 8pm
