THE BARD returns to The Playhouse this Thursday as critically acclaimed Transport Theatre Company present their re-telling of the classic Shakespeare comedy As You Like It.
ON Friday, October 18th, the legendary international recording star, pianist and singer, Buddy Greco and his wife and singer Lezlie Anders will be spending their evening with YOU at Harlow Playhouse. Buddy Greco is one of the truly great musical legends of the twentieth century, and for this special evening he brings a lifetime of music and some of his show business experiences to Harlow. He has the rare distinction of having the longest recording career of any living artist and will be performing with his trio some of his biggest hits, including The Lady is a Tramp, Girl Talk, Around the World and MacArthur Park.

WELL, we learned a lot. Strabismus, crepuscule and cow to name just three words but we also laughed and applauded a whole lot more at a terrific production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee which ran for three nights at the Harlow Playhouse. What marks this musical out is the characters. Not only a very dry and witty Darren Day as vice-principal Douglas Panch as well as the outstanding singing of Niki Evans but it was the patchwork personalities of the contestants that really lit up the playhouse.
THE CLASSIC play comes to the Victoria Hall theatre this week. Running from Wednesday October 9th until Saturday October 12th. The play was made famous by the film directed by David Lean and starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.

THIS OCTOBER as part of its ‘Freaky Fortnight’ The Playhouse prepares to lift the lid on Harlow’s deepest , darkest and most well covered secret. On the run up to Halloween, members of the public will be able to explore a labyrinthine network of storm drains recently uncovered during building works at the Playhouse. Accessed via an entrance in the basement, known as The Hatch, the drains aren’t for the faint-hearted or claustrophobic, and getting around will mean crawling on hands and knees.
