HARLOW Council has been praised over its swift response over fly-tipping.
The council has in place an on-line system that allows individuals to alert them to any perceived tipping.
On Wednesday, they were alerted to a substantial amount of tipping in the Bush Fair ward area of the town.
By Friday morning, the council team had sprung into action and removed the offending rubbish.
Councillor Phil Waite, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Environment, said: “The Council is always very grateful when the public report fly tipping.
“Kier Harlow Limited responds to around 1,600 incidents of fly tipping a year, with an average response time of just 1.8 hours from the time that the report is passed to Kier Harlow Limited.
“It is Harlow Council tax payers who pick up the tab every time there is a fly tip and the total clearing up costs are over £100,000 a year.
