Update: Bush Fair attack: Thugs filmed assault

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following an apparently mindless and unprovoked attack on a man in Harlow which was filmed by his young attackers on their mobile telephones.
The assault happened at the back of the library off Tilegate Road in the Bush Fair area of the town at 9:30pm on Thursday, July 4. A man had been walking along grassland when he was approached by a group of five young men who punched and kicked him unconscious before then filming him on their mobile telephones.
Investigating Officer, Dc Ryan Burgess, said: “This is disgusting, senseless attack and we want to identify these violent thugs as soon as possible so they can be arrested and taken off the streets. They do not deserve to be out in public. We would urge anyone who saw the assault to contact us, but also appeal to those who may know who did it through recognition of the descriptions provided and their absences from their homes on that Thursday night when darkness was falling.”
The assailants are all white, aged in their late teens or early 20s and were wearing grey tracksuits.
The 49-year-old local man is in a stable condition in hospital after sustaining a fractured eye socket and other severe facial injuries.

THE POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted near to the Tye Green Bowling club last night (Thursday).
The incident happened at just after 9.30pm near to Tilegate Road, Harlow.
It is understood that a man in his forties was attacked by five men in tracksuits.
The man received head injuries and was taken to hospital.
The area near to the disused tennis courts has been sealed off.
