Harlow Foodbank: Their success, our societies failure?

Charity / Tue 20th Aug 2013 at 08:54am

THE SUCCESS OF A Foodbank is a hard one to quantify. It is hardly a thing to celebrate and yet the work of Gary Knott and his team has to be lauded. If it was not for them, who would have stepped forward.

Harlow Foodbank has seen the number of people using its service grow by 54 per cent this year, an increase of 92 people per month.

Sources suggest that people are being forced towards the foodbank due to benefit changes or delays.

YH caught up with the director of community services, Gary Knott to assess how he saw the progress of the Foodbank in Harlow.
