FANCY giving your giggle muscles an intense workout?
Then good news – because some of the country’s best TV comedians are coming to Harlow Playhouse on November 23rd.
If you ever got out of bed in the early 2000s then you will remember Paul Tonkinson as a host of the Big Breakfast as well as The Sunday Show and countless other TV appearances. But as well presenting, this self-confessed ‘professional northerner’ is a startlingly good stand-up performer as you will know if you caught him on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
“Brilliant,” The Independent
“Very funny,” The Mirror
“Excellent… extremely talented… brilliant,” Time Out
Jim Tavaré, is the only comedian currently performing with a full-sized double-bass. He is also the only one who you will have seen in the Harry Potter movies where he played Tom, the owner of The Leaky Cauldron. Writer and performer on BAFTA-winning The Sketch Show (ITV) Jim’s acting career is currently going into overdrive in America. He has supported The Stranglers and Michael Buble on tour.
Tom Craine, is an award winning comedian and writer for shows such as Stand Up For The Week, Show & Tell and The Now Show. He is one third of the acclaimed sketch group ‘Jigsaw’, recently seen on Live At The Electric (BBC3)
“Wise, funny, lyrical,” The Observer
“Disgustingly talented,” The Guardian
Zoe Lyons, a regular on Mock The Week, Zoe has appeared on all kinds of TV shows from Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow to The Wright Stuff and The Paul O’Grady Show. In 2007 she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival. But she’s no newcomer now. And her quick tongue will leave you delighted.
“Enthusiastic, likeable, a razor-sharp talent…animated, likeable and confident…” – The Scotsman
