The pot-holes of Great Brays

YH was driving down Great Brays on Thursday morning when we noticed the plethora of perilous potholes. The street near to 62-65 has been bad for a few years but it looks like the street was devestated by the snow and frost from earlier this year.
So, we thought we would take the opportunity to put Essex County Council on the clock and see how long it takes them to fix them.
Local councillor Manny Doku told YH that he had alerted the highways, who, subsequently, have come out and “marked” the holes.
An Essex Highways spokesperson said: “Potholes are risk assessed and prioritised depending on the danger they may pose to the public – these are repaired to a timescale in-line with Essex Highways maintenance policy.
“Essex Highways have carried out a robust assessment of the defects in Great Brays that have been reported to the Essex Highways Service and currently the road defects do meet the criteria for urgent repair.
“Essex County Council maintains one of the largest highway networks in the country of 8,500 miles that includes roads and footpaths, we therefore have to prioritise those defects which present the most immediate safety risk.”
We would urge all Essex residents to report highways defects using the ‘View It, Track It, Report It’ function online at www.essex.gov.uk/highways, or by calling 0845 603 7631.
So, let us see how long they take.
