POLICE WERE called to Old Harlow on Sunday morning after reported sightings of an armed man.

Armed police response units along with the police helicopter searched the High Street area of Old Harlow but there was no trace.

Units searched other areas of the town such as The Stow and Bush Fair.

Enquiries are continuing.
