A SPECIAL Christmas delivery has arrived at St Clare Hospice after we received a bumper crop of toys as part of a donation drive on ITV’s Daybreak. Viewers were encouraged to donate goodies as part of the breakfast show’s Toy Box appeal for national charity, Help the Hospices, in partnership with Toys R Us.
More than 6,000 toys were donated across the UK, which were then distributed to hospices around the country, with St Clare receiving one hundred to raffle at our fundraising events and sell in our shops.
St Clare fundraising manager Anna Baldwin said, “The Toy Box appeal really struck a chord with ITV viewers who gave generously and have showered our Hospice with donations of toys.
“We are really grateful to Daybreak for organising this appeal to support the work of hospices, which provide vital care for children and adults.
“In addition to increasing toy donations, the appeal really helped raise public awareness about the value of hospice care in a very engaging way.”
