Athletics: Kinney double marathon effort

HARLOW Running Club member Andy Kinney endured an exhausting weekend by completing the Saxon Shore Marathon, a double marathon event over two days run on a tiring sandy course along the coast from Deal to Sandwich in Kent. Kinney finished the first day in 48th place out of 50 finishers in 5hrs 51min 29sec and finished the second day in 33rd place out of 49 finishers in an amazingly quicker time of 5hrs 13min 02sec. At the Essex County Vets Championships held over a hilly course at Claybury Park Woodford John Tennant finished in 51st place out of 189 finishers (6th Vet 60) in 36min 57sec and Roy Steven was 53rd (7th Vet 60) in 37min 06sec. At the Chelmsford Parkrun 5K Janice Page finished in 75th place out of 225 finishers and 2nd Lady Vet 50 in a superb personal best time for the distance of 23min 26sec and husband David was 80th in 24min 03sec. At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Paul Schroder finished in 32nd place out of 75 finishers in 24min 01 sec. At the Greenwich 10K Vicky Calver finished in 1357th place out of 1536 finishers in 70min 54sec.
