Ryman Division One North

Harlow Town 1 v 1 Thurrock

HARLOW harlowthurgrabbed a vital point at the Harlow Arena to keep up their promotion challenge in the Ryman Div One North.

Thurrock thought they had a good shout for a penalty in the third minute when David Knight thought he was bundled over in the box but the referee, Mr Stuart Cheek waved play on.

Both teams looked like they wanted to play expansive football in front of a good crowd.

In the 13th minute, strong running by Bradley Warner saw the winger get to the dead ball line, he stroked the ball across the area but there was no-one there to latch on. The ball went straight up the other end and this time Shane Stamp fired the ball cross but Leon Antoine just could not get a toe to it.

Antoine had a better chance in the 19th minute when he got in front of the defender but struck the ball at keeper Andy Walker. The keeper blew for a foul.

Harlow started to dominate without any real chances. In the 28th minute, Behcet once again showed his keeping skills as he turned a low shot round the post.

The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Robert Clark produced a terrific shot from thirty yards out that Darren Behcet could do nothing about.

Harlow came out for the second half, determined to make their mark and in the 47th minute, a foul in the box saw the referee point to the spot. Danny Brown had no problem smashing it into the back of the net.

Lewwis Spence went close in the 51st minute but his shot was smothered by Andy Walker.

Harlow really had their dander up. Shane Stamp put a great ball through to Leon Antoine who rolled the ball just past the post.

This was two teams going for the three points and a great advert for Ryman football.

Harlow continued to work the lines and channels and their movement really impressed. They were peppering the Thurrock goal without really threatening.

There was an ill tempered stramash after a poor Danny Brown tackle that saw him injured, yellow-carded and subbed.

Harlow kept pressing but never really threatened Thurrock and the Fleet held out to grab what could be a vital vital point.
