ONE OF THE bands that are filed under ‘Punk legends” are coming to The Square next month. The Members were primarily known for the top 20 hit: “Sound of the Suburbs” although the older members of YH had a soft spot for “Offshore Banking Business”
Formed in 1977, The Members were one of the first bands to successfully blend reggae rhythms with punk attitude. Releasing their first single ‘Solitary Confinement’ on the legendary Stiff Records, they then moved to Virgin and in 1979 released the punk anthem The Sound Of The Suburbs.
Expect all the hits from their ‘Live at the Chelsea nightclub’ days along side newer material from their recent release ‘InGrrLand’
Support from local recently reformed punk band Anti-Establishment and Steve Drewett of Newtown Neurotics
