Maldon and Tiptree 2 v 0 Harlow

HARLOW’S promotion challenge took a little dent on the road as they were beaten 2-0 by Maldon and Tiptree.

This time last year, Maldon were some fifteen points ahead at the top of the league and it would not surprise anyone if the sleeping giant stirred again.

This was an ill-tempered game in which seven players were booked.

A double strike from Bradley Hunter assured the three points for the home team.

In the 43rd minute, Hunter sneaked from a free kick in to head over Hawks keeper James May and into the net.

In the 58th minute, it was that man again as a move down the right saw a cross for Hunter to fire a 20-yard shot past May and into the corner.

Harlow return to action against Romford on Wednesday at Ship Lane, Thurrock.

HARLOW TN: May, Williams, Eadie, McLeod-Urquhart, Glowacki, Blewitt, G. Smith (Hart 65), Muguo, Read, Antoine, J. Smith. Subs not used; O’Donoghue, Curley, Knowles.
