Football: Club claims Harlow’s 3G is unfair

WITHAM Town chairman Tony Last believes Harlow Town’s 3G pitch is giving them an “unfair advantage” in the race for Ryman League Division One North promotion.
Town have been hit the hardest by postponements in the whole division, with their own promotion bid hit hard by the fact they still have half of their fixtures left to play.
Their early-season cup exploits have meant they have been playing catch-up fixture-wise for most of the season, but a string of call-offs – especially at Spa Road – means they are up to nine games behind some teams in the division.
Harlow, in third, are four points ahead but with six games more played, and their tally of 12 home wins – on their 3G pitch – is the highest in the league.
