1. Leaders and managers, in partnership with the local authority, have responded well to areas identified as needing improvement in the previous inspection. As a consequence, a strong focus on improving teaching has led to better achievement.
2. Pupils enjoy coming to school. This is reflected in their improving attendance.
3. Pupils say they feel safe and their parents agree. Pupils behave responsibly. They have very positive attitudes towards learning.
This helps the school community to be warm and welcoming.
4. Governors have an accurate knowledge of the school’s strengths and areas for improvement. They offer good support and challenge to school leaders.
Progress across the school is improving for all groups of pupils. Attainment is rising in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Year 2 and Year 6.
Improvements in the teaching of mathematics have ensured that pupils in Key Stage 2 are now achieving well.
YH will be catching up with the school next week for a comment.
