THE Outpatient Fracture Clinic at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow is to move temporarily to its sister site – The Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford – from Monday 15 December until late spring 2015.

Patients who have outpatient fracture clinic appointments have been notified of the short-term change of location by letter, phone and text.

The move will allow much-needed refurbishment work to go ahead at Princess Alexandra Hospital, as well as the construction of a brand new facility for fracture outpatients on the Harlow site.
The fracture clinic’s temporary site change will also allow the Trust to move around a number of clinical departments and significantly increase much-needed winter pressure capacity at Princess Alexandra Hospital as the weather gets colder.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust Chief Executive Phil Morley said: “Despite the temporary change of location, patients will see the same consultants as before. The new clinic at Herts and Essex has also been especially adapted for fracture patients and designed to be as comfortable as possible.

“We are sorry that for some of our fracture patients this may mean a slightly longer journey for them, but hope they understand that these changes will assist us to provide the best possible service for all our patients over the coming, challenging winter months”.

The telephone number for patients needing information about how to travel to the clinic or to change their appointment is: 01279 827007.
