HARLOW MP Robert Halfon has written to the chief constable of Essex, Steven Kavanagh over the ‘lack of police action” towards the massive illegal encampment on the old Passmores site.
Mr Halfon told the chief that he was concerned to hear that Harlow Council had been forced to issue a notice to the travellers over the amount of human waste found on the site in Tendring Road.
But Mr Halfon then told the chief that he was amazed that no Sec.61 notice was issued that would have given the travellers notice to quit.
He said: “The rights of law abiding citizens are being ignored in favour of the human rights of a group who are quite obviously not at all concerned.
“The public has a right to see Essex Police take robust action.”
