“Low-speed” plane collision at Stansted puts emergency services on high alert

A LOW-speed collision between two planes at Stansted Airport put emergency services in Harlow on standby.

Essex Police has confirmed to YH that two small planes collided at just after 2pm this afternoon (Friday Jan 16th).

Soon after, a number of police personnel were seen entering Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.

A spokesperson for Princess Alexandra has confirmed that the two events were related but would not be drawn further.

Many police forces have a local standby and full emergency procedure for airport situations.
