Running: Clare improves Park Run time by 14 minutes!

HARLOW Running Club members produced some excellent results over the weekend with two club records and several personal best times for their respective distances (PB).

At the Great Bentley Half Marathon, over a flattish course run on almost ideal running conditions with bright sunshine but a brisk wind in places, Jamie Jephcott led the way in 74th place out of 724 finishers in an excellent 1hr 26min 37sec. He was followed home by Julia Gardiner 157th and 3rd Lady Vet 35 in a superb 1hr 34min 00sec, Brendon Maclean 161st in 1hr 34min 19sec (PB), Colin Moody 243rd in 1hr 40min 05sec, Andy Ramage 285th in 1hr 42min 56sec (PB), Sandi Rust 331st in 1hr 45min 20sec, Debbie Smith 462nd in 1hr 54min 37sec, Karen Moir 467th in 1hr 54min 53sec, Matt Jones 601st in 2hrs 07min 29sec, Paulene Galoppi 616th and 2nd Lady Vet 65 in 2hrs 09min 17sec a new HRC Vet 65 record, Holly Nairn 649th in 2hrs 14min 54sec and Vicky Calver 701st in 2hrs 31min 34sec.

At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Winter Series 10K event Jim Bates finished in 181st place out of 515 finishers in an excellent 49min 33sec to create a new HRC Vet 70 record and he was followed by Debbie Barry 227th in 51min 27sec (PB).

At the Harlow Parkrun 5K Jason Haigh finished in 7th place out of 117 finishers in 21min 24sec. He was followed home by Andy Ramage 17th in 23min 24sec (PB), Paul Dixon 22nd in 24min 08sec (PB), Robin Lozeau 27th in 24min 31sec, Jane Evans 45th and 1st Lady Vet 50 in 27min 56sec, Alan Wellbelove 47th in 28min 25sec, Louise Cootes 51st in 29min 04sec, Pushpa Mistry 61st in 30min 40sec and Claire Stevens 62nd in 30min 45sec, a PB by an incredible 14 minutes.

At the Cannon Hill Parkrun 5K in Birmingham John Bull finished in 90th place out of 521 finishers in 22min 23sec and he was followed by Katie Muirhead 300th in 27min 51sec and Alison Bull 301st in 27min 55sec.

At the Panshanger Parkrun 5K in Hertford Sean Flynn finished in 32nd place out of 171 finishers in 22min 51sec.
