A NUMBER of people were rescued from a lift in Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Despite there being an Essex Fire Brigade Union strike, officers attended at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after it was reported of difficulties in the lift.

The crews reported that people were released soon after.
