HOLY CROSS Academy also got into the spirit of things on World Book Day.
The students all dressed up as a series of characters from Where’s Wally to The Grinch!
A number of VIP’s also came in to read to the students. Harlow MP, Robert Halfon, Labour candidate, Suzy Stride and the chair of Harlow Council, cllr Ian Beckett were among the special readers at the school.
Mr Halfon said: “I often go round to schools across Harlow reading to kids and handing out bookmarks. It is wonderful to be able to take part in World Book Day in Harlow.
“It is a day that shows Harlow and the world why books are such wonderful things to have, and hopefully encourages people to read more often”.
YourHarlow editor also read to the year 6 class. Michael Casey said: “I was deeply impressed with the classes’ knowledge. We spoke a lot about history.
“As a former pupil, it is heartening to see such high standards at Holy Cross.
