Harlow Rock School wow the Holy Cross Fete

HARLOW Rock School were on the road again this weekend, providing the entertainment at the culmination of Holy Cross School fete. The music project provided one of their younger bands to wow the crowds, supplemented by some acoustic performances to round off the day. The slightly inclement weather provided the perfect opportunity to use their recently acquired giant gazebo and waterproof GoPro video camera, both funded via grants from the Jack Petchey Foundation.

“The grants are for items over and above what we would need to keep the project running’ said Sue Wood from Rock School. “The gazebo means we can perform outside whilst keeping guitars and amps sheltered – not to mention performers!”

“The GoPro is proving invaluable for recording performances since we’ve had it” said Martin Elven from the project, “and we intend to record rehearsals as well to give the students a chance to look at aspects they may wish to work on. We are extremely grateful to the Jack Petchey Foundation for funding these items”.

Rock School will be performing at the Chilming event at Risden Park scout camp on July 4. Their AGM is on Friday June 19 at 7pm, to be held at the Youth Hub in Harbets Rd.
