FREE maths and English GCSE courses are available at Adult Community Learning centres across Essex for all applicants who don’t already have a grade C or above.
Enrolment for the latest Adult Community Learning Essex courses got underway last week and now prospective learners are being reminded of the excellent incentives available.
All applicants are subject to an assessment, with these due to take place throughout the summer.
Cllr Ray Gooding, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, said: “This offer provides an excellent chance for people to improve their skills and qualifications for free.
“Adult Community Learning Essex recognises the importance of these core subjects and I hope prospective learners will take full advantage of this opportunity.”
Adult Community Learning Essex runs thousands of part-time courses across the county. As well as GCSEs, it offers vocational courses, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and learn for leisure courses.
Other incentives to enrol include an early bird discount of 10 per cent off if people book and pay before Friday July 31 or 20 per cent off if they bring along a friend who hasn’t enrolled before.
A 20 per cent discount is also available for new learners on production of a valid Essex County Council library card.
