Burnt Mill Academy musical students went on their first international performing tour.

Burnt Mill Academy MusicA GROUP of 28 students in Year 7 to 11 at Burnt Mill Academy, in First Avenue, Harlow, packed up their instruments and headed for Germany.

The concert band and choir stayed in Cologne and put on performances at an outdoor bandstand at Boppard and at the Konzert hall.

Music teacher Carla Rubery said: “As a school, we have taken part in performing arts workshops abroad, but this is the first time we have prepared a performance with our concert band and choir to take to another country.

“All of the students loved it and were buzzing from the experience. They enjoyed the whole experience of going to another country and being able to perform in different venues.

“I am already looking into the next tour.”
The school has a mission to enable young people to be able to perform on the world stage in their chosen field of expertise.
