NEWLY released figures show the construction has started on 180 new houses and 140 have already been completed across Harlow.
Robert Halfon MP:
“The good news on housing is followed by the recent visit by Brandon Lewis MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning.
This supports Harlow housing for Harlow people.
The Government is determined to do even more to achieve its ambition of a million new homeowners by 2021.
The Government will continue to support small builders, build new affordable Starter Homes for young first-time buyers and build homes faster with planning permission in principle for brownfield sites.”
New housing is a must and commendable however, parking is an issue within Harlow and this is adding to that issue. You cannot simply keep building houses on one hand whilst complaining about the parking situation on the other, which currently seems to be the case. We need a plan to assist with this issue, including more hard-standings and garages. Some of these houses are built on garage sites which also adds further to the issue. We must have someone with a logical mind who can see this obvious chain effect or will it just keep being ignored? And then what? I have seen no pro-active work on the parking situation just words and confirmation that there is a Harlow wide problem. We need solutions and from whom if not our council?
“The good news on housing is followed by the recent visit by Brandon Lewis MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning. This supports Harlow housing for Harlow people What a load of bs,anything to put some spin on it when in fact all thay are trying to do is maintain the property bubble,so out of the 320 houses built and planned how many will be for council tenants and not some Ponzi housing association or for outright sale?
To be fair the ones I'm aware of are now housing council tenants. There are no private owners albeit I can't be certain about the future developments.
Scook, So what sort of figures are you talking about?i see no mention of council housing being built rather waffle about a million new HOMEOWNERS which to me is not council housing as all i can find is a total of 19 and they are Foster Court and Riley Mews,if you know of any more please let us know so we can keep a running total.
Don't see much about Harlow homes for Harlow people here. How many of these new homes will be affordable for Harlow people? Or are they going on websites in Russia and China like so many others in Harlow? See Harlow UKIP website.
