JOE Farrugia, a student at Sir Charles Kao UTC in Harlow, will this weekend run the London marathon for Cancer Research UK.

EIGHTEEN-year-old Joe, who studies maths and product design at the UTC, will this weekend take on the 26.2 mile race.

Currently Joe has raised over £1000 for Cancer Research UK but is hoping for your help to raise more.

Joe said:

“I wanted to do it in memory of my grandparents and after a family member was diagnosed in 2014. It was a tough time, but it was all the more reason to do something about it.”

“I’ve certainly taken on one hell of a challenge, and I’m probably one of the youngest people taking part in the event”
