ON Sunday 31st July, Pet’s Corner in Harlow Town Park will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The farm, which was first opened in 1966, has been a source of education and entertainment for many families in Harlow for generations.
What started off as a small collection of farmyard animals has now grown to encompass some very exotic species.
The farm boasts animals in the likes of reindeer, llamas, alpacas and even has an amphibian collection.
To celebrate five decades, Pet’s Corner will be putting on various events, including a Dog and Duck display, a Pet’s Corner Parade and ‘Heavy Horses.’
A Pet’s Corner timeline will also be set up, showing visitors the happy and sad times the farm has faced.
A barbeque and refreshments will also be available.
Pet’s Corner manager Justin Hopwood has said that he is hoping for an excellent turnout, even if the weather does not hold up.
Mr Hopwood said: “When we celebrated our 40th [anniversary], it poured with rain and yet we had a fantastic turnout of people.
“We are very honoured that Pet’s Corner is so well supported and thought of by the community.”
The celebrations will begin at 11:00 and finish at 17:00.
Entry is free, but donations are welcome.
