Harlow Chorus to stage Iolanthe

Lifestyle / Wed 6th Jul 2016 at 01:50pm

HARLOWIolanthe Chorus is ending it’s 40th birthday season with a concert performance of Gilbert & Sullivan’s delightful “fairy opera” Iolanthe at St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday 16 July. A classic bonkers G&S plot involves a band of fairies who have a run-in with the House of Lords and, needless to say, win hands down over the lordly but dim peers. Although not fully staged, there will be plenty of interaction between soloists (all home-grown), chorus and audience. Expect some mayhem! Our wonderful accompanist Sue Graham Smith and inspirational conductor Alex Chaplin will endeavour to keep it all under perfect control and send everyone off with a skip in their step to enjoy the summer holidays

The remaining tickets are all £10, and can be bought online (no fee) at www.ticketsource.co.uk/harlowchorus or call 01277 362440, also on the door. It’s rumoured that fairy cakes will magically appear during the interval. Don’t miss this treat of an evening.
