HARLOW AC (HAC) competed at the 2nd round of the Essex XC League at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Saturday 29th October 2016. Conditions on the day were unseasonably warm with hard ground conditions making for fast going underfoot.

As always the standard in the Essex League was really high and the match doubled as a trial race for selecting the Essex County XC Team for the SEAA Inter Counties Champs on the 10th December in Oxford.

HAC had an amazing three athletes with confirmed Essex County selection on the day; U13 girl Sophie Magson (in her debut XC race for the club), U15 girl Savanna Sirkett and 17 men Lewis Harkett, with some more of our team waiting to hear if they’ve done enough to catch the selectors eye.

There was an added bonus of an untimed U11 race over 1 mile at the event and our athletes; Lily Smith, Josh Knightbrige, Freddie Sperring, Jake Lacey, Sam Putt, Ethan Knightbrige and Toby Sloan all competed with dsitinction representing their club.

The team will be heading off to the next league match in Cambridge on the 19th September 2016.
