THROUGH the Varsity Match initiative to inspire the future generation of rugby players, students from Passmores Academy in Harlow have won one of four special coaching clinics that will take place at Twickenham, the Home of England Rugby, on Thursday 8th December.
Each private session will be run by England Head Coach, Eddie Jones, giving them a taste of the national team’s approach to the game, in-between watching the annual clashes of high performance rugby from both men’s and women’s Oxford and Cambridge Blues.
Commenting on the initiative, England Head Coach Eddie Jones said: “The Varsity Match is always a great occasion at Twickenham and I’m looking forward to seeing the lucky schools competition winners.”
Passmores Academy PE teacher, Jack Elston said: “This is such an amazing opportunity for the pupils of Passmores Academy. This trip has run every year for the past 9 years at Passmores and the pupils love it.
“For the lucky pupils that will get to train with the England head coach Eddie Jones, it just got a whole lot better. I must say I am extremely jealous of them!”
