IN October 1964, Bert and Frances Hudson moved from Harlow to Basildon. Bert worked for the Labour Exchange (Job Centre) and had just been promoted.

They moved to Orchard Croft, just near The Stow. Their son, Ian came with them. Ian is now the chair of the Harlow District Chamber of Commerce and a man well embedded in the heart and soul of the Harlow community.
