Harlow Town FC vs Tonbridge Angels

By Luke Henry

HARLOW welcomed Tonbridge Angels to the Harlow Arena looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-1 midweek defeat at home to Lowestoft on Tuesday evening. They welcome a Tonbridge side who were starting to rediscover their best form, after no win in five, going on a three match consecutive winning streak before that was halted on tuesday night following a goalless draw against Burgess Hill Town at home, Tonbridge will be looking at this match as an opportunity to put pressure on Dulwich Hamlet, who are currently occupying the final playoff spot, as there is only one point separating the sides, while Tonbridge have two games in hand.

However, it will not be easy as Harlow boast a decent home record, winning nine out of thirteen games at home, despite tuesday night’s defeat.

The Hawks have also never failed to score while on home turf. This could change as Tonbridge arrive with a strong defensive record, conceding just 33 goals all season, the fourth best record in the league, while Harlow have conceded fourteen more going into Saturday’s clash. A win for Harlow at home would leave them four points behind their opponents, while a defeat will stretch the gap to ten points, while a draw will leave the Hawks 7 points behind.

Following Harlow’s lacklustre performance, Danny Chapman may consider making some changes towards the starting eleven. Mario Noto and Jared Small may come in from the start after appearing as substitute last time out. Meanwhile, for Tonbridge Tommy Whitnell and Tom Phipp may come into the side for the visitors.
