Kiddi Caru celebrate Chinese New Year

KiddiKIDDI Caru’s Harlow day nursery enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rooster last week.

The children flexed their creative muscles to make a fantastic Chinese dragon, and even made up their own dragon dance. They made roosters as well at the nursery and their parents helped the children to create Chinese fans at home. Each room put together a colourful Chinese New Year display and some of the children also created pictures out of feathers. The weeklong celebrations were rounded off with a delicious Chinese tea cooked by the nursery’s chef.

Louise Farrow, Nursery Manager, said: “We love to celebrate lots of diverse festivals from all over the world as part of our inclusive activities and also so that children learn to embrace lots of different cultures.

“Chinese New Year is one of the most visually stunning festivals and the children certainly got into the spirit with their many bright and colourful Chinese New Year inspired creations. A big thank you to the staff for organising all of the activities and also to the parents for joining in the celebrations.”
