Athletics: Great runs at Great Bentley

HARLOW Running Club members produced some excellent performances at the Great
Bentley Half Marathon with several personal best times for the distance and two
club records.

Sharon Wright finished in 111th place out of 669 finishers and 3rd
Female Vet 35 in an excellent 1hr 31min 06sec, a personal best time for the
distance (PB) and a new club Female Vet 35 record. Carinne Jay finished in 162nd
place and 2nd Female Vet 50 in a superb 1hr 36min 26sec, a PB and a new Female
Vet 50 club record, which has stood since 1996. Brendon MacLean was first home
for Harlow in 50th place in 1.24.44. He was followed home by Darren Tiley 94th
in 1.29.40 (PB), Alex Smith 110th in 1.31.01, Adrian Fell 117th in 1.31.43,
Martyn Coulter 120th in 1.31.49 (PB), Andy Bradley 156th in 1.35.27, Julia
Gardiner 178th in 1.37.48, Paul Schroder 189th in 1.38.39 (PB), Dionne Jones
205th and 3rd Female Vet 45 in 1.40.41, Vicky Steadman 236th in 1.43.03, Anna
Robey 257th in 1.44.40, Debbie Barry 341st and 2nd Female Vet 55 in 1.51.20
(PB), Andy Smith 352nd in 1.52.28, Kerry Mavris 393rd in 1.54.41 (PB), Wendy
Schroder 431st in 1.56.52, Alec Laing 510th in 2.04.04 and David Page 546th in
2.08.04.

Meanwhile at the very hilly Watford Half Marathon Owen Haigh, in his debut at
the distance, finished in 448th place out of 1641 finishers in a fantastic 1hr
39min 03sec, a new Under 20 club record. He was followed by Sean Flynn 647th in
1.45.14, Martine Beard 926th in 1.53.24 (PB) and Justine Patten 1296th in
2.07.51.

At the London Winter Run 10K Mark Ramsey finished in 1962nd place out of 13,143
finishers in 49min 50sec and Jeff Mace was 6267th in 59min 05sec.

At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10K Andy Kinney finished in 266th place out
of 385 finishers in 58min 18sec and the next day completed the Mornington
Chasers 10K in Regents Park finishing in 260th place out of 362 finishers in
57.29.

Several runners completed parkruns on Saturday morning.

At Harlow Craig Segal was 1st finisher out of 160 finishers in 19min 56sec.
Following were Darren Tiley 8th in 21.49, Terry Ridge 16th in 22.33, Greg Goodey
18th in 22.40, John Bull 23rd in 23.09, Steve Jack 28th in 23.36, Spencer Brooks
34th in 23.59, Martin Westley 35th in 24.03, Catherine Ridge 36th in 24.08,
Graham Saville 45th in 24.49, Peter Ayling 47th in 25.05, Paul Dixon 49th in
25.30, Jim Bates 62nd in 26.40, Martin Elven 65th in 27.22, Andrew Smith 71st in
27.57, Andy Smith 72nd in 27.58, Zoe Delaney 76th in 28.20, Jane Evans 92nd in
29.53, Louise Cootes 101st in 31.31, Pushpa Mistry 106th in 32.00, Jeff Mace
113th in 32.37 and Paul Schroder 116th in 32.53

At Hatfield Forest Afewerk Rossom finished in 2nd place out of 221 finishers in
17min 38sec and Peter Mills was 130th in 28.28.

At Luton Rob Lowe finished in 2nd place out of 269 finishers in 17min 42sec.

At the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey Jamie Luck finished in 19th place out
of 179 finishers in 21min 56sec and Austin Nyamande was 73rd in 27.41.

At Alexandra Palace Will Wall finished in 49th place out of 214 finishers in
23min 00sec.

At Hoddesdon Darren Rautenbach finished in 12th place out of 57 finishers in
25min 29sec.

At Chelmsford Kerry Mavris finished in 226th place out of 558 finishers in 25min
55sec.

At Long Eaton in Derbyshire Debbie Smith finished in 179th place out of 399
finishers in 26min 32sec.

At Walthamstow Alan Wellbelove finished in 33rd place out of 51 finishers in
28min 55sec and Martyn Coulter was 34th in 28.57.

At Brentwood Robin Lozeau finished in 102nd place out of 184 finishers in 29min
18sec.

At Cambridge Brenda Clayton finished in 304th place out of 471 finishers in
29min 55sec.
