HARLOW Running Club held their Presentation Awards Evening over the weekend with
awards being presented for members performances during the previous year. The

The Club Championship Awards are held throughout the calendar year, over a total
of 20 specified races of various distances and terrain, with a runner’s best 10
performances counting towards the final positions. Performances are based on age
graded WAVA (World Association of Veteran Athletes) calculations, theoretically
putting all age groups on an equal footing. The Championship is also used to
decide the Club’s ten Age Category awards.

Meanwhile at the Hackney Marshes parkrun 5K Afewerk Rossom finished in 3rd place
out of 197 finishers in 16min 53sec, a personal best time for the distance (PB)
and a new Club Under 20 record.

At Harlow parkrun another club record was set by Viola Tam in the Female Under
20 category. In her debut race for the club she finished in 18th place out of
129 finishers and 3rd Female in 23min 19sec to improve the record by more than 4
minutes. Rich Hynes was 1st finisher in 18min 42sec and he was followed home by
Danny McCree 2nd in 20.07 (PB), Darren Tiley 3rd in 20.11, Greg Goodey 6th in
21.24 (PB), Paula Reynolds 10th in 22.42, John Bull 14th in 22.59, Catherine
Ridge 17th in 23.15, Martin Westley 23rd in 23.33 (PB), Anna Robey 24th in
23.46, Andy Smith 26th in 23.51 (PB), Graham Saville 30th in 24.19, Spencer
Brooks 33rd in 24.24, Paul Dixon 35th in 24.38, Debbie Barry 39th in 25.46,
Martin Elven 43rd in 26.06, David Morley 44th in 26.09, Andrew Smith 52nd in
27.34, Louise Cootes 56th in 28.05, Jane Evans 64th in 29.07, Brenda Clayton
76th in 30.47 and Hossein Erfani 98th in 33.56.

At Hatfield Forest parkrun Alan Broughton finished in 9th place out of 200
finishers in 19min 58sec. He was followed by Jason Haigh 10th in 20.24, David
Page 90th in 26.53 and Janice Page 97th in 27.30.

At Alexandra Palace parkrun Martin Coulter finished in 14th place out of 154
finishers in 20min 55sec, Will Wall was 40th in 23.42 and Alan Wellbelove 91st
in 28.13.

At the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey Jamie Luck finished in 12th place out
of 146 finishers in 22min 00sec.

At the Romford parkrun Robin Lozeau finished in 80th place out of 164 finishers
in 26min 32sec.

At the Stormont parkrun in Belfast Andy Kinney finished in 74th place out of 125
finishers in 27min 54sec. Next day Kinney completed the Dune Half Marathon in
Northern Ireland finishing in 697th place out of 775 finishers in 2hrs 19min
14sec.

At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 5K Lorraine Knight finished in 72nd place
out of 356 finishers in a PB time of 27min 03sec.

At the Met League XC at Alexandra Palace Park, over a very hilly and very muddy
5 mile course, Martyn Coulter finished in 283rd place out of 359 finishers in
39min 05sec and Sean Flynn was 331st in 42.56.
