Marks Book 2

World Book Day At St Mark’s

To celebrate World Book Day, 2 March, staff at St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School came into school dressed as various characters from Literature. Pupils took part in a competition, organised by Ms Lewis KS3 Coordinator for the English Department, to name the character, book/play and author.

An additional competition invited pupils to create a book title and opening paragraph of 500 words, inspired by one of the images provided which were related to a range of genres. The winning entry will receive a Kindle, with vouchers for the runners-up.

Ms Lewis said, “ The day has been a great success and one which pupils have thoroughly enjoyed, especially seeing the staff in a different light in their costumes. Thank you to all those who put in the effort to make it such a challenge for pupils.”
